If you’re a nerd at heart then you’ll be impressed with the attention to detail that the production teams have put in with quality costumes, and obvious hand crafted details, along with custom sets that create just the right mood whether it’s a crackling fire or a Harry Potter inspired dormitory room.
Stella Cox, VRCosplayX / Harry Potter XXX VR Parody
Both European and U.S. talent are featured to provide a nice variety, but right now with only 27 movies under their belt there aren’t too many stars to boast of, but their line-up does include Stella Cox, Dani Jensen, Carly Rae, Alexa Tomas, and Jessa Rhodes. Updating every week, usually on Friday’s, a schedule that’s consistent with BadoinkVR’s own once a week release schedule, it won’t be long before that list fills out.
Zoe Doll and Alexa Tomas, VRCosplayX / Overwatch XXX VR Parody
For our review, we chose to start with Overcrotch with Zoe Doll, a parody of the Overwatch video games. It was hot and immersive, though we found that sometimes the POV’s tended to be somewhat lackluster, like when you are supposed to be flat on your back while she rides you. While this and some the other movies we watched were fairly vanilla for some that will be a good thing, concentrating on the cosplay niche that brought users there in the first place.
Did it work?
A similar rig to BadoinkVR is used to make the VRCosplayX movies and it’s working with audio and lighting at least meeting industry standards. You’ll likely notice slick opening graphics as well as some special effects that are fun to experience in VR.
Downloading the movies though was slow with it taking around 25 minutes to download a 5 gig Oculus High file. You’ll be able to use virtually any headsets available whether android based like the Google Cardboard or Samsung’s Gear VR as well as PC based like the Oculus Rift, HTC VIVE, and even the PlayStation VR.
Is it Worth it?
Currently there are almost 30 videos with a once weekly release date, so it won’t be long before the VRCosplayX catalog builds up to greater proportions. Unfortunately, what’s in the current catalog is somewhat hit and miss, but there are more hits than misses. While some POV’s are off, and you’d better LOVE being flat on your back while she rides you cowgirl style because that seems to be a Badoink and VRCosplayX favorite, if you’re into cosplay and all things geek, then this is a site worth checking out.
Alix Lynx, VRCosplayX / Street Fighter: A Cammy XXX Parody
Watch for popups and cross sells while you’re signing up, they’re everywhere, but if you can navigate through all that then you might want to try out a trial membership or even a full month. The cosplay niche offers some added entertainment and VRCosplayX adds extra production value with their attention to detail and complete sets and costumes.
